DGS VLN is the cinematic pop project that DGS (they/them/theirs) has always dreamed of creating: Combining the complexity and depth of orchestral timbres with the frenetic, driving energy of indie pop and film scores. Utilizing a five string violin, synthesis pedals, and looping machines, they are able to create one-person arrangements that span the entire frequency spectrum from the traditional high strings the instrument is known for down into dark, growling synth bass and dancing, syncopated kick drums. Growing up as a strings player who digested pop radio and video game soundtracks with as much intensity as studying John Williams and Mahler, DGS has become well-versed in crafting richly textured sonic worlds for their listeners to dive into. You can find them re-arranging bespoke covers for weddings, performing for travelers at the airport, touring with artists they record and produce for, and otherwise creating music that invites listeners of all ages and genre preferences to engage in a pensive-yet-thrilling experience.
